This seems to be the consensus among Filipino war veterans and their heirs. It is their collective reaction to HR 1 (signed by President Obama last Feb.17) – the economic stimulus bill which includes legislation recognizing the military service of Filipino WWII veterans.

For them, recognition for their efforts and their rightful place in history are more important than the $198-million compensation package from the US government.
