Philippines has been free from foreign occupation for a little over 100 years but they never figured out how to run their country well.
Philippines has a vast natural resources, but constantly deteriorating by constantly selling raw materials to the whole world thus making a very tiny profit with in it..
the attitude of the people, framed along the years by the education & the culture & flawed tradition. eg. the way of respecting the laws and rules, discipline, punctuality etc.. have dominantly affects the growth of the country..
Great Filipino people are going out to the country because they feel that thier talent will never be appreciated once practiced in the philippines..
What is happening to the Philippines?– The nation’s problem are clearly seen at all times, at all places at all occasions.. Philippines– a third world country, isn’t it.. but What can you do can you make a bit for a difference?..
It seems that the state of education in this country, even among top schools was geared to teaching into making graduates as mere efficient commodities for the economic machinery, rather than teaching or encouraging students how to build this nation.
The educational system seemed to disregard the value of Culture, Art, Literature in nation building so as to give it valuable ‘soul ‘. That is why most Filipinos are not supportive of artworks or have no passion for reading, and are easily manipulated by crass commercialism. it seemed the educational system had failed on these.

He said strengthening the capability of small and medium businesses in the country has always been the priority agenda of the Nacionalista Party as its standard bearer, Manny Villar believes that the sector is the driving force of the Philippine economy. “The local agriculture and industrial sectors have not been spared from the crisis and now face weakening exports and displacement of workers,” said Remulla. “The bloating number of unemployed Filipinos is leading to increased poverty and hunger and high drop-out rates among students”. Remulla said SMEs comprise 95 per cent of businesses in the country more than 95 per cent of businesses and full government support should be given to them to allow them to provide more jobs in the coming years. I asked my friend why he did that and he said that it’s because he owes a debt to his parents. They are the ones who raised him and send him to school. His dad even told me that he was his “investment” and lives the good life back in the PI. While my buddy and his wife are struggling. I guess from my understanding a parent puts his kid to school and raise him right so that in return he would be able to do the same for his or her children. Not once did my parents asked me to pay them back for my education or my upbringing. We argued for a little while about this issue and he ended it with “It’s just part of our culture” I don’t think that’s true, is it? . If there is anyone here who can explain this to me a little better I’d appreciate it.
